Cleverly written book that draws you in from the first page with the introduction of the Seed Reeder, collector and narrator of spooky Halloween stories. This book offers thirteen of those stories. I especially loved Maglich and Maggie as well as The Tricker. Whether or not you have children, you'll enjoy this book. It's perfect for the season!
I've been reading the short stories to my grade-school-aged boys and they've read the book cover to cover on their own. The tales will leave you spooked and curious... the open-ended ending to many of them leaves a lot up to the imagination.
A great collection of stories that might give you or your kids a fright but won't keep them up with worry all night.
An entertaining book that reminded me of stories told around camp fires. Mark brought to life some delightfully scary stories. Very happy I bought this book. I hope he writes more.
Spooky stories for nearly any age group - my kids loved them as much as I did!
I'm a horror addict who particularly likes anthology horror. This book takes the best attributes of stories like Trick r Treat, V/H/S, and popular creepypastas and tells stories appropriate and enjoyable for all ages. It has 13 stories all tied together by the voice of the mysterious Seed Reader and the setting of Halloween. My personal favorite stories are April's Storm, Maggie and Maglich, and Tricker or Treater. Definitely worth the read.
I don't usually go for short story collections, but I was in the mood for a Halloween read, and this fit the bill. It was really well done. Sucked me in from the first story, and I couldn't make myself put it down! If you're looking for spooky (but not terrifying!) Halloween fun, this is it!
